Chicago native Kyle Paul is a quickly emerging musical artist who not only possesses an impressive performance history but also an exciting and moving musical spirit and creative charisma that be seen and heard in his live performances, recordings, and compositions. A critically-lauded modern musician with roots in improvised and popular music, he has shared the stage with many internationally known musical luminaries on guitar, bass, keys, and vocals. He has toured with a variety of groups performing like Diane Coffee and Shoulderbird performing various styles music across the country's most exciting and well-known music venues. When residing in Chicago he is leading and writing for his own projects, working as a session musician and producer in prominent studios, playing as a sideman with the city’s most in-demand musicians, and performing at numerous Chicago Area Gospel churches. In 2021, he founded the //Ara series, a series of duo performances held at The Digs Chicago which featured a variety of musicians and songwriters from a kaleidoscopic breadth of backgrounds presenting mostly original music in a stripped down setting. He has released music and been featured on many different recordings this year alone with projects that are highlighted on this site. Informed by concepts of modern composers and theorists, the rhythmic intricacies of Afro-diasporic and Indian music, and forays into the electronic and avant-garde, Kyle has created a musical language and style that is uniquely his own whose live performances should never be over looked.
