Shoulderbird is the brainchild of Meredith Nesbitt, a band which I have the pleasure of writing, arranging, recording, and performing with, along with Sarah Clausen and Devin Drobka. It is the blend of Americana and indie rock into surprising, lyric-driven songs that incorporate improvisation and the creation of sonic landscapes. Its sound is organic and uninhibited, introspective yet deeply relatable. It is the smell of sawdust in a lamplit alley. It is tripping on the pavement and falling into a bed of lamb’s ear.
